How We Can Help You
Our Story
How We Got Started
The organisation’s humble beginnings started in December of 1999, when a group of women got together to help the women of the Preston Road Estate. Driven by a strong belief in evidence based projects and a golden thread of feminism running through all activities, the ensuing organisation became known as Winner – Women Improving Now Not Ever Retreating – fulfilling an important role in the overall regeneration of the Preston Road area in Hull.
Where We Are Now
Winner’s current Preston Road buildings were gifted by Hull City Council in 2002, and the purple, white and green colours were chosen to honour the Women’s Suffragette movement.

Get Involved
Winner is changing the narrative of how women should be helped and supported through the implementation of self-sustainable practices, minimising the reliance on donations and grants, and firmly placing the power to control their own future in women’s own hands.
