The Girlz Only project at Preston Road Women’s Centre offers tailored support for young women aged 10–18 affected by domestic abuse – whether in their own relationships or by witnessing it at home. Our trained staff provide practical and emotional one-to-one support in places that feel safe and comfortable.
Young Women At The Heart Of Everything We Do
The support is young women led with them being at the centre of the project, we continue to adapt and develop from the views and needs of young women we support. The support provided is individual and unique to each young woman we support.

A Space That’s Just For You
Our Girlz Only youth club runs weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays (4:30–6:30pm). It’s a fun, safe, welcoming space where young women can meet new friends, take part in activities, and make decisions about what they want to do.
Note: The youth club is free and open access – just turn up or get in touch to learn more.
Support That Grows With You
Every young woman is different. That’s why our support is flexible, trauma-informed, and led by you. We adapt everything we do based on what you need, and where and how you want to meet.
Facilities & Safe Locations
We provide support in a safe and comfortable place for young women including schools, colleges, children’s Centre and from within the Preston Road Women’s Centre building. The youth club sessions run from within the Preston Road Women’s Centre building.
Experienced, Youth Focused Staff
Our highly skilled and experienced staff will work with young women around their support needs. The team specialise in youth work which helps with engaging this age range and can adapt their way of working to suit each individual young woman.
