Preston Road Women’s Centre offers a range of accredited and non-accredited courses. We also do lots of pampering sessions such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Nail Art and Glass Painting.

Volunteer Training
All volunteers are given the opportunity to update their skills whilst working in the centre, Opportunities include reception duties, answering the phone, monitoring incoming phone calls and generally making Women feel welcome when they come through the door. Volunteers will develop an awareness of Women’s issues and learn confidentiality which is paramount to working within Womens’ Centres.
Assertion and Confidence Building:
This course helps you look at how you are treated and how people treat you. This course aims to improve your self worth ad your self-esteem in a fun and interesting way.
Sexual Health Training:
This course teaches Volunteers the skills needed to provide Women with free pregnancy tests supply Women with free condoms, advice, information and support on a range of sexual health issues, including sexually transmitted infections.
Being a Student at the Women's Centre
• Understanding Abusive Relationships – This teaches an in depth look at how men who abuse Women do so and the methods they use. The course also teaches Women how to spot these types of men and how to protect themselves.
• Suicide Awareness – This teaches an insight into how many people who may be contemplating suicide may be feeling as well as pointing out the warning signs, which may be apparent to anyone feeling this way.
