Sex Safe
The sex safe project is a confidential service, which offers information, advice and support to young women on a range of issues relating to sexual health and relationships.
We offer:
- FREE condoms,
- FREE pregnancy testing,
- FREE Chlamydia testing,
- Sexual health information and support,
- Information on a range of contraception.
The service is available to all women (although aimed at those under 19years of age), Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.
NURSE
A qualified sexual health nurse runs a drop-in 4-5pm on a Tuesday in which a range of contraception is provided and/or prescribed including:
- The mini pill,
- The combined pill,
- The implant (rod),
- Injection,
- Emergency contraception.
OUTREACH
As well as providing a service within the centre, we also offer street based outreach to young women and men in various locations across East Hull:
- Monday: East park gates/ skater park 6-8pm
- Tuesday: Rosemead Road/ David Lister School area 6-8pm
- Wednesday: Ings Skater Park/ Marfleet Lambert School field 6-8pm
- Thursday: Kingston Wesley Church/Marfleet shops 6-8pm
- Tuesdays - Thursdays: Wilberforce College 11.30-1.30pm
Cyber baby
The project is currently running a cyber baby scheme which aims to give young people a chance to experience parenthood in a safe environment. As well as running this in the centre, we also work alongside colleges and schools to deliver a cyber baby programme.
TRAINING
We run various training courses including Sexual Health training, Strong young womens training and 'No Rush and No Regrets' training. To gain more information on these courses please contact the centre and speak to Kim Hutchinson.
